June Workshop Pages

Here are the 2 pages we will be making for the June workshop featuring the new "Moon Doggie" paper pack from CTMH. They are perfect for vacation or beach layouts, as well as Summer fun layouts.
These pages also feature another new product, "Journaling Spots Journey" and we will be using several of these for hidden journaling (see below)

Here is another close up, and one of the stamps we will be using.

Please let me know if you would like to attend this workshop, or purchase a kit.
We are off to Lexington today for some shopping.
Have a great weekend,

Living Room Is Done!

Just sharing some pics of how the living room came out.
This cabinet used to be green and my wonderful husband, even suffered a sunburn to sand it down and stain it with a colonial maple color. Your the best Richard!

I could not resist adding these cute little primitive houses on the edge of the window trim.

Close up of the new picture; it goes so well in here, and reminds me of Shaker Village.

The new lampshades are painted "barn red" and are punched tin. They are the coolest at night!

That is it for today. I am off to work on the kitchen.

A Little Birdie Told Me...........

Isn't this layout just the cutest? I have no idea what pictures I am going to use on it but had to have it! This was another kit from my LSS. I love kits! Not only do they go together so easy, but you can still fit scrapping into the day!
Off to Church and then going to visit my brother.
Happy Holidays! lol

Ice Cream Layout

With all the redecorating & dejunking there has not been much scrap time. This layout is from the LSS and was a kit that I bought and put together. I could not resist the yummy pink scallop circles. (Click to enlarge)

Richard is off to the Gideon breakfast this morning and then we are making another trip to Georgetown to get new lamp shades and curtains for the upstairs living room.
We have our little KK this weekend because Brittany is working.
Enjoy the long weekend!

Day 4--FINISHED!

We are both very pleased with the final results.
Here are a few shots from around the room. First the double doors that have been Hunter Green since we moved in. Now, they are painted October Red and they really stand out. We removed the vertical blinds and put these cute Americana curtains that I found in Georgetown at the "Country Peddler" shop. The little bears are part of a larger grouping from the former "Home Interiors & Gifts" company that you will see more of later.

Here are a couple shots of the cabinets I used. The first one is my favorite! Almost everytime we go to Shaker Village we buy one of the oval Shaker boxes that is made there in the village. I decided to use the bottom of the cabinet to store cookbooks and such.

Next one is a pickle cabinet that was locally made. I confiscated this one from Richard's room downstairs.

A shot of the wall grouping

Last shot.. Taken from across the room

Thanks Richard for ALL of your painting and most of all your understanding of me and my constant re-organizing!

Day 3--Progress

I am LOVING how the dining room is looking so far! Most of the hard work is over and now the fun part (decorating) comes in. Let me know what you think so far, even if your comment is "didn't you just re-do your dining room?" lol

Day 2--And So It Continues

Well, after we got started yesterday morning, we decided that because of how the house is made, we couldn't just paint the dining room, so Richard started at the top of the steps and worked his way around the entire upstairs! I decided I needed to organize and clean kitchen cabinets. So at this point, the house looks REALLY, REALLY bad! LOL Everything is out of most of the kitchen cabinets because I ran out of Mr. Clean Magic Erase pads, and nothing else works so I have to finish that up today. The only painting that is left is the little rails between the steps and the dining room doors and then the fun part begins!
Here are a couple of pics from this morning.

Looking good, huh? LOL

I should go now, as you can see there is no time to waste!
Enjoy your day,

Dining Room--Before

Alrighty... Here we go! Today we will be redecorating our dining room and I am sharing a couple of before pics. Right now, the predominate color is hunter green and it has a lot of snowmen! Don't get me wrong, I love those little guys, but like usual, I get tired of looking at everything the same way after a short time (ask Richard) so have to change things up quite often.

Here is a shot looking from the living room. About a month ago, I got in one of "my moods" and took the leaf out of the table, that is why it looks so small. The double doors have vertical blinds and are painted hunter green.

That is it for now. I have lots of work to do!
Hope your day is wonderful!

Opening Page For My Wedding Album

Good Sunday Morning!
So, yes I have been married to Richard for over 8 years and am still making scrap pages for my wedding album. Why? well because I have several albums going at the same time and work on them just as I go. I may be doing a page for 2009 one day, then doing a page when the girls were babys the next.
I needed a single page layout for my opening page for my wedding album and saw this sample at my LSS on Friday. I had them to photocopy the layout and then I bought the supplys I needed. All the paper is from Pink Paislee and the ribbon and brad is CTMH.

A close up of the sentiment.
That is it for today. As usual, we will be at Church most of the day and napping the rest lol Tomorrow "Operation redecorate the dining room" starts so there will not be any scrap time. I will post pics of the dining room before tomorrow morning at coffee time!
Have a great Sunday with your family,

John Deere Layout

Here is the layout for Megan's 16th birthday back in February.. She is a die hard John Deere fan. Most of the little tags came off of her shirts and the other one on the bottom of the left is off the cake. I couldn't find any John Deere paper at the LSS so kinda had to make do using CTMH cardstock and B & T paper.
Click on the pic to make it bigger AND so you won't miss the pic of Megan on the left side top acting like a goofball!! LOL
Happy Day To You,

Every Story Begins At Home

I finished this layout Saturday while Richard and Megan were out shopping for Mother's Day.. You really need to click on it and make it larger to view all the wonderful details. It took quite a while to finish because of all the inking to age it, sewing on buttons, etc., but I really love it. This was a class kit that my local scrapbook store did sometime last year, while I did not make the class, I ordered the kit and just now got it put it together. Hope you like it. I am off to do yard work.
Enjoy your day,

It was a VERY Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday was a great day and reminded me that my daughter's love me so much! Here are a few pictures. My oldest, Brittany, penned a poem to me and then decorated it in pink and framed it. Oh yeah, I cried bigtime.

My gift from Megan was a really cute sleep shirt that says "Good Morning Sunshine" and some of my favorite perfume. I also got this card from her that included a keepsake journal of some of her thoughts and wishes for me.
Oh yeah, I cried bigtime!

Here is a picture of the card that Kadence gave me.. I was so impressed that she signed it herself with no help from Mom!

Here is a pic of me and my best girls!

I hope your Mother's Day was great!

My Scrapbook Room

Just wanted to share the results of my rooms most recent makeover.. The whole "Megan wanting to switch rooms and then didn't like it upstairs and wanting to switch back" fiasco brought this on. I spent about 3 days sorting, organizing, purging, and trashing stuff. I am pretty happy with the results.
Have a great Mother's Day weekend!

Yard Work

I absolutely loathe yard work, but boy it sure looks good once its done! Richard and I spent the last couple of days replanting dead shrubbery, mowing, cleaning out the fence line, mulching, setting out flowers, etc.. You get the message! Oh my leg muscles are sore! Only 3 days until it will need mowed again! lol
Enjoy your Summer day!
