Lunch With Friends

I spent two hours yesterday having lunch and catching up with Missy & Stephanie. As usual, we talked about everything from dangerous escalators to nose bleeds and everything in between. Since we don't live close, lunch dates like this are few and far between but I always leave feeling inspired, blessed, and loved to have Godly friends in my life. Thanks Vivaays! Hope we can get together again soon.

My First "Your Story" book

For Christmas this year, Richard Claus got me the new Your Story Book Binder & Laminating machine. Yesterday afternoon I finally got a chance to get it out and do a book for Christmas 2008.
I love it! The pages remind me of a childrens story book. The pages are not blinged up enough for me, but I am going to fix that later. The only thing I did not like is that since the kits come with 8X8 premade layouts there are spaces for your personal pictures. That is fine, except that some of the white spaces are not measured correctly and so after you attach your picture, you can see some of the white spaces. Since this was my first one, I will no better next time and may make some mats to go behind my pictures or something. However, you are not limited to their kits, you can make your own pages using your own scrap supplies.
Anyway, here are some pages from mine. Hope you enjoy looking at it. I am going to add some journaling later on this afternoon.

Here is the cover. I wanted it kept simple so I just used some of the "My Stick-ease" from CTMH. The kits do come with stickers but I did not like them.

First page

Close up so you could see what I mean about the spaces for photos being to big.

My sister and I and my nephew's little girl

My family and I

My Mother the reindeer.. Isn't she cute? The other side is Kadence and Brittany with Santa and me singing with the choir at our church's Cantata.

Finally, My cousin & his family and Kadence.

Hope this post helps you decide if you just have to have a "Your Story" machine.

Carving Our Jack-O-Lantern

This is my second post for the day, so scroll down.
This is a pretty simple layout because I am trying to finish up our 2008 album.
Hopefully you can see it ok because I could not get a good pic of it.
Check back tomorrow as I am hoping to get to play with my new "your story"
machine tonight.
Have a great rest of the day!

Early Morning Visitor

This morning Brittany had to come over early to pick up some paperwork she needed for her new job and Kadence was still snoozing when Brittany carried her in.
I took her to lay down in my bed with me and Richard snapped these pics so I thought I would share. It had been a long time since I got to snuggle with Kadence and kissed her little lips as she slept. Isn't she just the cutest thing?

The Awesomeness Of My New Shirt!

Right before Christmas, my sweet CTMH sister & friend Tammy Pinchard had this little shirt sent to Kadence as a Christmas gift.

Isn't is so perfect? In case you can't see it, it says "Professional Scrapbook Model" The shirt is from Two Chicks Designs. I visited the site to see if there were any "so perfect" shirts for me and lo and behold (my Mom used to say that) looky at what I found?

How much more perfect could you get? It is even pink! Woo-Hoo! I am saving it as a reward for losing the next 20 pds that I am working on now. I will be sure to let you all know when that happens.

Missing My Sister Today

As most people reading my blog know, My sister passed away very suddenly on November 2. Even though we were not super close, I still lost a sibling, and in such a way that I never dreamed of. I have experienced emotions with her passing that I have not felt before, and hope to never feel again. I created this layout shortly after her passing and wanted to share it here today. It will serve as my tribute to her.

Blessed

Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
(Luke 18:15-17 ESV)

Scenes From A Birthday

We had a great time celebrating Brittany's birthday! After she arrived, she opened her gifts first. The gift from Mom and Dad was a bit "different" this year. When she opened our gift, it was an empty money sleeve that once held 50-one dollar bills!
I explained to her that since she was no longer a teenager, and now is an official adult, she would have to work for her money, and work she did! Megan and I had hidden 50-one dollar bills all around the upstairs and it was Brittany's job to find them. After a lot of time and several hints, she found them all!

After the treasure hunt it was time for the yummy cake!

Here is the cutest little party goer!
